  Big 0l' Snake Whip

Post by Mark Elliott »

Here are some photos of the snake whip I've been working on for the last week or so. There was a gap between finishing the bellies and starting the overlay because I had to order the silver cord and it took much longer than I had expected.

The whip is 8 ft. long with a weighted, TT core,

3 plaited bellies,

a 3-strand flat braided Engish eye fall hitch

and a 20 plait overlay in black, silver, and red.

The heel is a 7x6, 3-pass THK over a lead foundation. There is also a 3x13 2-pass Spanish ring knot for decoration.

Mark, I cannot honestly convey how impressive this is.
I just don't have the vocabulary to do this justice. (my apologies )
Just like Rachel, I really don't have to ask how it cracks. All of yours preform super.

Mark, this whip looks like a muscle car, strong and fluid. Beautifully executed, sir!
