My half of the trade with Hayes

Here's the 8-f
oot cow whip I sent to Hayes in our little swap.

TT core, 2 bellies, 16-plait overlay, 12-inch Indian Ebony handle, weighted fall. I have to admit to a bit of unease in sending a turned handle to a master woodworker, but I manned up and did my amateurish best. Also, the ball chain in the fall seems to have compacted a little and left a stretch of unfilled fall next to the hitch. I've never had the chain do that before. A simple enough matter to resolve just by retying the fall, but still an annoying thing to have missed before I shipped the whip. You can see the gap in some of the photos, I should have inspected it after test cracking it. Hayes has the knowledge to retire it but if I had sent it to someone that didn't it would have been a disaster.

Great looking whip Mark.
I didn't even see the purple until the close up. Great color choices.
